Donate clothes to red cross

Do you donate to charities on a regular basis? Have you made it a monthly or weekly goal to set aside money or items to donate to different non profits and charities in need? If you do not know where to start, it can be tricky figuring out where to donate, how to donate, what to donate and how often to donate. Don?t let that stop you from getting started, though. With a little bit of research and a little bit of work and effort, you can make donating party of your weekly tasks and errands to help make a difference in your community and across the nation and world.

There are plenty of ways to donate and give back from choosing to donate clothes to Red Cross or donating gently used items and products to other non profits and charities. In fact, donating in one form or another is something a large portion of people living in the United States do on a regular basis. Each year, around 70 percent of United States occupants choose to donate or give back whether that is by choosing to donate money, choose to donate clothes to Red cross or some other type of charity.

Overall, charities receive around three percent of American income throughout each year. This helps different charities stay afloat so they can continue to make a difference in the lives of those who are in need. With financial donates and clothing donations or used clothing donations, the American Red Cross is able to assist families and communities. Without donations from those in the United States, the American Red Cross would not be able to stay open every hour of the day, every day of the year attempting to assist and provide relief for those in need through food donations, blood donations and by providing different forms of shelter.

With so many people homeless and in need in other ways currently living in the United States, it is essential that as many Americans as possible make it a goal to donate clothes and to donate money to charities like the American Red Cross. In the United States alone, there were 564,708 people that were homeless as of 2015. On top of that, 83,170 or 13 percent of the homeless population are considered chronically homeless.

When we have so much in our own lives and plenty of time to put toward giving back, there is no excuse for not making an effort. The EPA reports that each year each person in the United States throws away an average of 10 pounds of clothes. Instead, it should be made a priority to donate clothes to Red Cross that are gently used and still of value.

There are even ways to drop off gently used clothes to free-standing location and mobile trailers that can then collect, assess and disperse clothes and items to those who are in need. With so many different options, charities and non profits, we all should be able to make it to a clothing donation center with bags of gently used clothes and items at least every month to give back.

Have you made it a new goal to donate regularly this month or this year? Have you already been donating gently used clothes and other items to charities and non profits? Let us know in the comments what your goals are or how your experience has been donating.
