  • In 2014, $358.38 billion were given to charitable organizations. Used-clothing purchases kept 2.5 billion pounds of fabric out of the landfills in 2006 alone.
  • Each year, Americans donate around 4.7 billion pounds of clothing. And yet Americans are recycling only 15% of their used clothes. Each year, 10.5 million tons of clothing end up in landfills. If you’re one of the many Americans who live in a predominantly two-season climate, it’s easy to determine which items you really need: If you haven’t worn a piece of clothing in over six months, it’s time to take it to a clothing drop or call a charity who accepts pick up clothing donations.
