Having a backyard party or any outdoor party for that matter can be a lot of fun. It’s a great way to both enjoy the outdoors and have fun with family and friends. Although these parties can be a great time, they can also be extremely frustrating and stressful.
Here are a few tips that might help you limit the stress when planning and hosting an outdoor party and allow you to enjoy yourself.
Take Advantage of Party Rentals
One of the most frustrating aspects of throwing a party is supplying all the equipment yourself. Not only will you stress out about how many items you’ll need, but you’ll also be worried about things not returning or your crazy nephews destroying all your stuff. So a great way to combat this is to use party rentals. You can rent linens and rental chairs so you don’t have to bring your own furniture. Don’t ruin your favorite bar stools or furniture, use party rentals for your outside party.
Have Plenty of Activities for Kids
The most frustrating part for adults when you throw an outside party is the constant chaos kids provide. If you don’t have enough fun activities for children to partake in, they’ll be at your side the entire day and potentially bugging your guests. Simply having a few outdoor games should keep the kids busy but it’s a good idea to have a few surprise ideas in your back pocket if the kids start to get bored. After the kids have played bocce a few times, give them a few footballs or basketballs to keep them busy. Once they get bored with that, it’s time to literally bust out the big guns: give the kids squirt guns and watch them go crazy. Hopefully they won’t turn on you and the rest of the adults, but even if they do it’ll be entertaining.
Having a bring your own food party is essential for a stress free party. If you alone are in charge of all the cooking for the party, so many things can go wrong and you’ll be extremely stressed out. If everyone brings their own dish, however, there will be plenty of variety and plenty of food to enjoy.
